The web resources on Margaret Mead are many and varied. I order to present an analytical view of her works on gender, it is necessary to engage in some filtering to prevent information overload. Below is a listing of websites on Mead which have solid reputations. The Barnard Center was formed at Mead’s alma mater, Barnard College, and their hallmark journal, The Scholar & the Feminist Conference, has an entire issues dedicated to Mead’s impact on the field of feminism. The Institute for Intercultural Studies was founded by Mead at Columbia University. The Institute is now defunct, but their web presence remains the premiere source for Mead biographical and bibliographical information.  At the centennial of Mead’s birth (2001), The Library of Congress debuted a virtual exhibit on Mead and her impact on American culture and gender roles. These three sites, when taken together, provide the most reliable and accurate data on Mead that can be found...
